Laser Mode: To get a homing-laser hold down L1, R1, SELECT and DOWN during Galaga '88. Press TRIANGLE to fire. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Drift Contest: Choose Time-Trial on any course. Position the cursor on the start button and press gas and brake simultaneously. During the game the message 'Spinning-Zone' appears on the screen. Try to do some nice 360s, 540s or even 720s. But always rememeber: STYLE is important. Your score will be shown in the Replay. Too bad that the DRIFT-CONTEST high-scores can't be saved. By the way - you can't combine the DRIFT-CONTEST-MODE and the RALLY-X-MODE. Sad but true. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Buggies: You must finish the Galaxian loading game in under 40 seconds. To do this, use the 'laser code', see above. You have to hold your controller in a weird way; instead of using the X to fire a shot, hold the D-pad down, select, R1, and L1 keys and use the triangle to fire the laser. If you can wait for each wave of Galagan's to fly onto the screen, one shot will clean up each. You will feel silly holding all those keys down but you can take out each of the four waves in one shot a piece. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Toggle Read-View Mirror: Press START to pause the game. Hold down TRIANGLE and press L1 or R1 to toggle the mirror on or off. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Zoom In/Out: (External View Only) Press START to pause the game. Hold down TRIANGLE and press L1 or R1 to zoom in or out. Pressing L1 and R1 together resets to default. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Endings: There are 12 different endings for Ridge Racer Revolution. The ending depends on the combination in which you have played the tracks. For example Advanced, Expert, Novice has a different ending than Novice, Expert, Advanced. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Move Spotlight: Use the L and R (shoulder) buttons to change the size of the spotlight / to move it on the title screen. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Extra Cars: Shoot all the Galaxians during load-up to chose from eight additional cars. Start shooting immediately to get off a couple early shots. Submission: Damian Gick ( dgick@sun1.iusb.edu) Secret cars: Take first in each track (novice, advanced, expert) then go back and race each track in Time Trial mode. After beating a track you will then have access to the special car for that track. The 3 cars are: Devil #13, Kid Car #13 and White Angel #0 Extra Tracks Finish all the tracks in first place to race track backwards. ------------ Scene select Get firsts in ALL extras. You now have the option to change ------------ the scene between Normal, Noon, Evening & Night. Mini Cars: This got to be the best cheat of Ridge Racer Revolution! Driving around with tiny cars & a childern's voice as your commentator! To get mini cars in Ridge Racer Revolution, you must clear the Galaga'88 game with less than 44 shots. Hint: The Best way to clear the Galaga'88 game is with the Laser code! It will allow you to make a perfect 40 shot game! Percentage of Glory: before the race press square and x, you will see the percentage of your glory White Angel: I have gotten the "white angel" on expert in time trail after the other races have been won. Anyway it's awesome. It's basically like like the black car (the faster one) except it goes a little faster and you have much better control. If you have the steering wheel controller and the pedals this is one of the coolest racing games I have ever played. Well hope you get the white car! Submission: Garrett Spinning Points: Select TIME TRIALS, unlimited laps and car. Then place cursor on START, press Start button then immediately press gas & brake buttons. In some of the BIG corners a text appears at the bottom of the screen and as soon they appear try taking the corner sliding/spinning for bonus points. I am not sure what happens if you get full points on every spinning point - but i guess something cool happens atleast. LAZER-MODE: To get a homing-laser hold down L1, R1, SELECT and DOWN during Galaga '88. Press TRIANGLE to fire. EXTRA-CARS: Shoot down all ships on Galaga '88. You may use the LAZER-MODE cheat. RALLY-X-MODE: Shoot down all ships on Galaga using the LAZER-MODE cheat. DRIFT-CONTEST-MODE: Choose Time-Trial on any course. Position the cursor on the start button and press gas and brake simultaneously. During the game the message 'Spinning-Zone' appears on the screen. Try to do some nice 360s, 540s or even 720s. By the way - you can't combine the DRIFT-CONTEST-MODE and the RALLY-X-MODE. Sad but true. TOGGLE REAR-VIEW MIRROR ON / OFF: Press START to pause the game. Hold down TRIANGLE and press L1 or R1 to toggle the mirror on or off. ZOOM CAR IN / OUT (EXTERNAL VIEW ONLY): Press START to pause the game. Hold down TRIANGLE and press L1 or R1 to zoom in or out. CHANGE SIZE / MOVE SPOTLIGHT ON TITLE SCREEN: Use the L and R (shoulder) buttons to change the size of the spotlight / to move it on the title screen. 2-PLAYER-LINKUP WITH ONE CD: Load Ridge Racer Revolution on the first Playstation. Open the lid and replace the CD with a music CD. Load the game on the second Playstation. It should now display 2P-Link Option. Due to the fact that the game loads the first track into memory you can now have a linked game on the first track. The first PSX will play BGM from the music CD (The music CD isn't necessary. If you don't put a music CD into the drive you will hear only the sound-effects.). To play any other track you have to select *and load* (start a race, wait until the track is loaded, abort the race) the track on the first PSX before starting the game on the second PSX. I know that this isn't too comfortable but at least it works... Tips: Here are some Tips for RRR, for those who haven't played if so far yet. 1. If you play the Galaxy Game and shot all 40 objects you'll get 8 more cars to choose from, just like in Ridge Racer. BUT: If you don't do anything you get a Secret Bonus. Dunno what it does. 2. If you win all three Tracks (Novice, Advanced & Expert) you get three more Tracks to play. These are the same Tracks like the first three except: You race them the other way around. Same as in RR. If you win those three too you get a new Menu called Scene where you can select, whether you wanna play by Noon, Evening, Night or "Normal". 3. If you choose the option "Time Trial" (3 Cars & 3 Laps) after you've previously won all three Tracks (Novice, Advanced & Expert) - otherwise you'll only see 2 Cars & 3 Laps - you'll see a Black Car passing you by. You'll have to block the Black Car as often as it tries to pass you. If you were successful and you cross the finish line as first, you'll get the Black Car to play ! It's called 13th Racing (Novice Track) because it's the 13th Car you get if you have won the Galaxy Game and has the following features: Acceleration: 75% Maximum Speed: 100% Handling: 100% Grip: 100% You won't believe how fast this sucker is. Incredible ! If you still haven't had enough, you might wanna try to get the Black Car from the second Track (Advanced). Try to use the Black Car from the first Track and use the same procedure as above. If you win this race too the car you'll get is called: 13th Racing KID, which is a little bit smaller than 13th Racing. The features of 13th Racing KID are the following: Acceleration: 100% Maximum Speed: 100% Handling: 25% Grip: 28% If I were you i would choose 13th Racing. Coz you have more control over it. Last but not least, if you decide to play the 3rd Track using Time Trial you'll get a White Car which i haven't got yet. I'll keep you posted !
