Greetings ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to my HELLO KITTY: ROLLER RESCUE user guide. My name is Kryssa, I'm 20 years old and I love playing video games. This is the most sickeningly cutesy game I've played since Hamtaro: Ham -Ham Heartbreak. I must admit that I like 'kids' games a lot and I think they are often overlooked even if it's a really good or really fun game. The only real problem I had with this game was that they didn't include Chococat! He is one of my favourite Sanrio characters but sadly he's been left out for whatever reason. Maybe there were already too many cats in the game or something. Just so you know, I have purposely not included a contents table because they are very time-consuming to make and I am lazy. You can just as easily find the section you are looking for by using the 'Find' look-up action (simply hit Ctrl and F, then enter the word or phrase you are searching for into the pop -up box). Well then, here we go...lets get started with the info! =================== |* THE BEGINNING *| =================== Prepare yourself for plenty of feline fun and adventure in this bright, out-of -this-world platformer. The nasty King Block and his evil yet clumsy troops from Planet Block have invaded Sanrio Town, the happiest little town on Earth. Only Hello Kitty and her trusted, moody sidekick penguin Badtz-Maru and his alien-bashing frying pan stand in their way. It's up to you to step into Hello Kitty's pink roller boots and skate your way into danger. Your mission is to save Sanrio Town and Hello Kitty's friends and family. Earth in danger! King Block dreamt of conquering the universe, but alas he always ended up failing and he was made fun of by the others in his galaxy. He left Planet Block in search of another planet to conquer, he hoped to be victorious and return to Planet Block with honour. On his quest for victory he came across planet Earth, he had found his next target and set out on his goal to turn Earth into a perfect cube. WHAT? A PERFECT CUBE? How boring would our lives be if everything, including ourselves, were turned into blocks? HELLO KITTY! It's about time to pick up your magic wand, skate your way into danger and drive the clumsy Cube Battalion away from Earth! ========== |* MENU *| ========== The menu in the game is pretty cool as you can wander around Hello Kitty's house and talk to different people to do different things. Speak to Grandpa to save the game. You can have up to 3 saved files at a time. You can look in Kitty's closet to choose what clothes she should wear and to equip weapons. Check your computer to read e-mails from Keroppi. They will give you information about the next mission you have to go on. Speak to Mimmy to view character profiles. This tells you all sorts of interesting and useful information about Kitty's friends and family. Talk to Papa to view the options menu. Here you can alter the sound settings and check button controls. You can also turn the rumble feature on or off. Talk to Mama to view movie clips of all your heroic antics. Talk to Grandma to hear different music clips. =========== |* ITEMS *| =========== One life point is half an apple. Hit an apple tree to knock down the fruit and restore your life points. Defeating enemies usually gives you energy stars. Collect them to boost your star meter. Once you have a full star meter you can perform special attacks. Your Level 1 special attack is Whirlwind Blow and your Level 2 special attack is Love Radiation. Try and collect all the coins in each level. Gold coins are worth $1, pink coins are worth $5 and blue coins are worth $10. Collecting coins boosts your score and allows you to purchase different items when you're at home. You can buy cake from vending machines. This restores life points. Chocolate cake costs $5 and will give you one life point. Strawberry cake costs $10 and gives you 2 life points. Smash open the crates to see is coins or cake may be hidden inside! Hint boxes can be found throughout the levels and give you useful tips and information. Post boxes can also be found throughout the levels and they give you information about special items and things you can unlock! Defeat enemies near locked doors as one of them will be holding the key. Knock down dead trees to build bridges. Each partner has different level-up items. When you find an item, the skill level of the corresponding partner increases. Bombs can be picked up and thrown at enemies. Keep at a safe distance from the explosion or you'll get hurt. You can also use pineapple cannons to shoot pineapple cannon balls! These are more powerful and you can only fire 3 cannon balls at a time. ============== |* MISSIONS *| ============== OK so you're on your way to save the town! It never really explains why Kitty's wearing roller skates, but the handling is just as if you really were skating. Sometimes her movements can be a bit slow, but it's not that much of a problem. The more annoying thing is that the camera angles go all over the place, but this is just something you'll have to get used to throughout the game. You can adjust the camera using the C stick. Basic attack = B Triple attack = B --> B --> B or B --> B--> Y Jump = A Jump attack = A --> B Double jump = A --> A Double jump attack = A --> A --> B Dodge = R Radar = Z Special attack = X (the Star meter must be filled to Level 1 or 2) ------------------------ |* STAGE 1 - NEW HOPE *| ------------------------ E-MAIL: The Block Battalion has invaded the residential area. Time is running out. Kitty, get going! Hello Kitty: "Badtz-Maru! Are you okay?" Badtz-Maru: "I'm okay. But the town is in danger. We must hurry!" Hello Kitty: "Then let's work together and cast these villains away!" OBJECTIVES: Rescue Mary White. You start off next to a large water fountain. Skate forwards and jump onto the metal box and then jump over the wall. 2 enemies will appear who you will need to defeat. Remember, you should always collect all the coins and hit any boxes and bins to find hidden coins. Head through the break in the wall and 2 green boxes will fall down blocking your path. Another 2 enemies will appear so get rid of them. Go right and jump over a cracked section of the wall. There are 8 enemies waiting for you. Once you've defeated them go down to the far end and double-jump to get over the fence. There are another 6 enemies in this section. Defeat them and go to the far end where there is an old tree. You can knock this down and it will form a bridge which allows you to get across the river. There is a locked pink door in front of you. Defeat the 4 enemies as one of them will be holding the key. Enter the pink door and you'll see Mama shut inside a cage! Make sure you get all the coins and break all the crates before you rescue her. Save Mama and you've completed your first mission! ENEMIES: Blue Cube Blocks, Red Tube Blocks. ------------------------- |* STAGE 2 - FOOD FEAR *| ------------------------- E-MAIL: The Block Battalion has entered the food court area and has used some sort of transmission beam to steal our food stores. If the invasion doesn't stop there will be no food court! You must hurry and stop them! Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? The Block Battalion is transporting our shops away with their photon beams. You must destroy the enemies that provide the location of the transfer before any of the shops disappear. Otherwise, you will fail this mission." Hello Kitty: "Roger that. Over." Keroppi: "They are targeting the next building! Hurry before it's too late!" OBJECTIVES: Destroy the Scout trooper before the Hot Dog Shop disappears. Destroy the Scout trooper before the Hamburger Shop disappears. Destroy the Scout trooper before the Noodle Shop disappears. Destroy all enemies in the park. The blue cubes with the flag and binoculars are the ones providing the transfer location, so you'll need to get them out of the way first. You start off next to a hot dog store and there are 6 enemies here. Fight them and then move upscreen towards the pink arrow. Jump over the blocks and you'll have another 5 enemies to fight. After that jump up the blocks and over the roof of the building. Once you skate over the bridge a big block will fall down and you won't be able to go back again. There are 5 more enemies to destroy, then you'll need to jump onto the blocks and over some more roofs. You'll find Keroppi on the first yellow roof, so speak to him and he'll help you for the rest of the mission. There are 5 more enemies that need to be stopped. Defeat them and then go up the stairs to the park. There are a total of 4 enemies to destroy. Once you've done that collect all the coins and step into the teleportation beam to complete the mission. ENEMIES: Scout Trooper Blocks, Blue Cube Blocks, Red Tube Blocks. --------------------------- |* STAGE 3 - TANK ATTACK *| --------------------------- E-MAIL: Block-O's heavily armed machinery, Green Beret, has entered the City Plaza. Your weapons are not powerful enough to stop this advanced weaponry. Once I finish analyzing the enemy, I will immediately tell you its weakness. Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? I have found the enemy's weakness! You must press Y to pick up the time bombs of the green monster and throw it back onto its head. Try to hide or jump over the laser beams." Hello Kitty: "Copy that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Brick-Eater. This is your first boss battle! There are bits of broken wall around the middle of the plaza so hide behind these to avoid being hit by the tank's lasers. You'll need to hit the enemy with 6 bombs to defeat it. Try and collect the coins as well. ENEMIES: Green Beret Brick-Eater Tank. ------------------------------- |* STAGE 4 - THE SLEEPY PONY *| ------------------------------- E-MAIL: Based on my detection system, the Block Battalion is making a mess at the amusement park and captured several citizens. I'll provide you the list of captured citizens as soon as possible. Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? I found Mimmy trapped inside the coffee cup. You must find and turn off the power switch first. You can press START to view MISSION in every level. MISSION will tell you what you have to do and the information of the people you have to save." Hello Kitty: "Roger that. I will find everyone. Over." OBJECTIVES: Rescue Mimmy. Rescue Purin. Rescue Lala. Find the exit of the amusement park. There are 2 enemies at the very start; defeat them and then skate down the stairs. There are another 4 enemies, and one of them is holding a pink key. Defeat them all, collect the pink key and open the pink door. You will see that Mimmy has been trapped inside the teacup ride. Skate over to your right and jump over the hedge. Press the switch to stop the ride and make your way over to Mimmy. Defeat the 5 enemies and rescue Mimmy. She will then give you a yellow key so you can access the area where Purin is trapped. Collect all the coins and then open the yellow door and skate over to your right. You'll be able to see Purin in the distance and he is stuck on the Ferris wheel ride. Press the switch when Purin reaches the bottom to rescue him. He'll then give you a blue key so you can get to the area where Lala is trapped. 6 enemies will appear. Defeat them and then enter the blue door. There is only one enemy waiting, so get rid of it and then press the switch to lower the bridge. Go back through the blue and yellow doors, then skate up the stairs and over the bridge. There are 4 enemies here. Defeat them to find a second pink key, then open the second pink door. Get rid of the 3 enemies and pick up the second yellow key, then you can open the second yellow door. Speak to Lala to rescue her and she'll give you a second blue key which will get you out of the amusement park. Skate back towards the fountain and go up the stairs. Open the second blue door and go through it to complete the level. ENEMIES: Red Tube Blocks, Blue Cube Blocks, Green Cube Blocks, Yellow Cube Blocks. -------------------------- |* STAGE 5 - MESSY PARK *| -------------------------- E-MAIL: Block Battalion sent out the Chef Chief to contaminate the amusement park and capture their employees. Head to the amusement park and save the rest of the employees! Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? The amusement park is filled with enemies. Please save Tabo! OBJECTIVES: Destroy the water barrels to clean up the dirt. Defeat the Chef Chief. You are now able to select a partner! A partner can help you throughout the mission and each has their own special abilities. There are 3 enemies you need to defeat first, then jump onto the platform and speak to Tabo to rescue him. Skate to the right and go through the doors. Break all the water barrels to clean up the mess. There are also 3 enemies to get rid of. Once the area is clean you can go through the doors at the end. You also need to clean this area with the water barrels and there are another 3 enemies. Defeat the cheerleader blocks and then go over to the spring block. Wait until it is bouncing in front of the little red building and hit it once to stun it. Whilst it is stunned you can jump on it without getting hurt. Make sure you land on top of the little red building and then jump up onto the next platform. Defeat the 2 enemies and collect all the coins. When you've done that, skate over to the far right side of the pink building and you can see a 'secret' area below. Jump down and collect all the coins. There are also 3 enemies here. Jump back up again and go back to the main area, then skate through the doors. Follow the rail track to the right for more coins and talk to Kiki to rescue him. Go back round the corner and skate up the stairs. Chef Chief is waiting for you here, along with 5 other enemies. I find it easiest to take out all the small enemies with a Level 2 special attack, then finish off the Chef Chief with a few more hits. Enter the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Green Cube Blocks, Cheerleader Blocks, Spring Blocks, Chef Chief. ----------------------------------- |* STAGE 6 - PROTECT THE STATION *| ----------------------------------- E-MAIL: Block-O's commander has taken over the trailer area of the amusement park. No matter what, we cannot let them take away the children's dreamworld. You must stop them! Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? You must use the enemy's cannon or your second level "Love Radiation" to attack the head of Choo-Choo Bomber." Hello Kitty: "I will defeat it. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Choo-Choo Bomber. Before you do anything else, it is easier to skate around the whole level and collect the coins and items. Then you can concentrate on the main task: destroy the Choo-Choo Bomber! It can be damaged by your level 2 special attack and using the pineapple cannons. A pink arrow will appear to show you which tunnel the Choo-Choo Bomber is going through. Use the pineapple cannon to target the front carriage and fire. It takes 6 hits to completely destroy it. During this time other block enemies will appear. You can fight them or dodge their attacks depending on what you find to be the easiest/quickest. ENEMIES: Choo-Choo Bomber, Armed Red Tube Blocks. ----------------------------- |* STAGE 7 - SHOPPING SCAM *| ----------------------------- E-MAIL: I heard that large amounts of promotional flyers have been placed at the town's supermarket. This could be part of Block-O's setup to capture innocent citizens. You must go there to find out more. Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? Monkichi went to the supermarket to buy cheap bananas. I'm so worried about him!" Hello Kitty: "Oh no! Monkichi might have fallen into the hands of the enemy. But I'll save him. Over." OBJECTIVES: Rescue Monkichi. Defeat the Anti-Riot Chief. There are 4 enemies in the first section, then when you skate round the corner there are lots of boxes in the way. The quickest way to get rid of these so you can move on is to do a double jump attack. There are 12 enemies to defeat in this section. Once you've done that, skate past the shelves and go round the corner where you will come to a freezer section. Get rid of the 3 enemies to your right, and break through the boxes to get to Monkichi. Speak to him to rescue him and he'll give you a pink key. Defeat the 4 enemies to your left and then open the pink door. Defeat the last 2 enemies and then enter the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Red Tube Blocks, Rocket Blocks, Skiing Green Cube Blocks, Anti-Riot Chief. ----------------------------- |* STAGE 8 - FREEZE FACTOR *| ----------------------------- E-MAIL: Kitty. I discovered that the frozen area of the supermarket has turned into a factory to manufacture powerful robots. You must find a way to destroy it. While I look for a strategy, you must enter that area quickly! Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? I discovered the way to stop Block-O from manufacturing new robots. You must activate all 6 switches to cause an overload and create a chain explosion. Remember to rescue innocent victims!" Hello Kitty: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Activate power generator No. 1. Activate power generator No. 2. Activate power generator No. 3. Activate power generator No. 4. Activate power generator No. 5. Activate power generator No. 6. There are lots of enemies in this level (12 in total), so the best thing to do is go round and get rid of them before concentrating on your main tasks. Jump onto the platforms and you will need to press all 6 switches. Pressing a switch will make new platforms raise up so you can access new areas. Remember to collect the coins as you are going round. You will find Pochacco on top of a block near the conveyor belt. Talk to him to rescue him. Once you've pressed all 6 switches the power will overload and the level is complete. ENEMIES: Yellow Cube Blocks, Skiing Green Cube Blocks. ------------------------- |* STAGE 9 - RED ALERT *| ------------------------- E-MAIL: The Catapult Monster is making a run from the frozen area of the supermarket. We must destroy it to stop Block-O from making more of them. Keroppi: "Kitty! To defeat the Catapult Monster, you must jump on the spring troops after knocking them out and step on Reddy-Bear. You can also press B to reflect the tracing missile whilst flashing!" Hello Kitty: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Catapult Monster. Collect all the coins first so then you can concentrate on defeating the boss. There are two ways you can destroy the catapult monster. The hard way is to get up close and stun the spring blocks, jump on them and land on top of the catapult monster so you can attack Reddy-Bear. The easy way is to wait for the enemy to shoot a tracing missile at you, then press B when it is close enough for you to hit it back at them. It takes 6 hits to finish it off. ENEMIES: Spring Blocks, Reddy-Bear, Catapult Monster. -------------------------------- |* STAGE 10 - THE HAUNTED LOT *| -------------------------------- E-MAIL: Lately, strange things are happening in the parking lot. Numerous citizens' vehicles disappeared and rumours are saying that they've seen UFOs kidnapping citizens. I think it's time to had over to find out more. Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? According to my information, the parking lot seems to possess some unknown energy and has already hurt innocent citizens." Hello Kitty: "Don't worry. If this is true, I will rescue them. Over." OBJECTIVES: Complete the request of Runabouts. Find the exit of the parking lot. There are 2 enemies in the first section. Defeat them and the metal gate will slide open. Go through the gate and 2 blocks will fall down, cutting off your path. Go right and skate through the hole in the wall. Defeat all 10 enemies and continue onwards through the next gap in the wall. There are 4 enemies in this section, and one of them is kidnapping Kuririn! Speak to him to rescue him after you have defeated the enemies. Follow the pink arrow through the gaps and skate into the large, open area. Defeat the 3 enemies and the metal gate will slide open. Again, some large blocks fall down, cutting off your path. Skate forwards and speak to Runabouts. He needs you to help him find some batteries to restore his power supply. There are 6 enemies that you need to get rid of, and then you can break open the boxes to look for Runabouts' batteries. You'll find 3 batteries in this area, which restores Runabouts to half-power. He then suggests finding a cracked wall that he can break through. Go back to the cake machine and there is a crack in the wall just to the left of it. Runabouts will break this into a hole and you can go through. Defeat all 10 enemies and then break open the boxes to find the 3 remaining batteries. This will charge Runabouts up to full power. He can now break down part of the bigger wall, so follow the arrow between the 2 pink cars in the middle section, and then skate through the hole that Runabouts makes. Once you go through this hole there is no going back, so make sure you have collected all the coins etc. Defeat all enemies and enter the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Ninja Blocks, Bomb Blocks, Blue Cube Blocks, Anti-Riot Chief, Communication Chief. -------------------------------- |* STAGE 11 - ARENA OF DANGER *| -------------------------------- E-MAIL: Based on my judgement, the UFOs that the citizens are describing should be Block-O's mother ship. Also, it seems that they are building a new assembly to manufacture large machines once again. You must be careful and see if you can find the whereabouts of the mother ship. OBJECTIVES: Find Kiki and Lala. Rescue Margaret White. Meet up with Kiki and Lala to exit the gymnasium. Collect the coins and destroy the 6 enemies on the ground. Remember to hit the trash cans for extra coins. Follow the track to the end and jump up onto the platforms back in the direction you just came. There are 6 more enemies on top of the platforms. On the end platform you will see Kiki and Lala. Talk to them and they'll lift you up into a new section where you get chased along a track by a giant ball! This part is pretty tricky, but the best way to do it is to double jump over all the boxes. There isn't very much time so I would advise against fighting enemies or collecting coins here unless you've tried it a few times and really have the hang of it. Jump down when you reach the end and you'll find Melody. Speak to her to rescue her. There are loads of enemies in this section (a total of 10), so get rid of them as quickly as you can, then go back round and collect the coins. Jump on top of the first platform on the left and then jump over to Margaret White. Speak to her to rescue her. Jump all the way over to the end platform and Kiki and Lala will carry you off to complete the level. ENEMIES: Ninja Blocks, Bomber Red Tube Blocks, Rocket Blocks. --------------------------------- |* STAGE 12 - PROJECT HOME RUN *| --------------------------------- E-MAIL: Kitty. I found out that the Block Battalion has invaded the Sports Arena and began an "Army Upgrade Program" to increase the fighting ability of the Block Battalion. Block-O has sent a commander with heavy machinery to help monitor the program. You must be careful! It's gonna be one tough battle against the commander. Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? You must not touch the electric walls on the field. But you can use the walls to attack the enemy. Press Y to toss the baseball against the electric wall and allow the baseball to bounce towards the enemy. You can also lure the enemy into the electric wall as it charges towards you, falling into its own trap." Hello Kitty: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Smash-Dozer. You are in an area surrounded by electric fences. You must make sure you don't touch the fences, but you can use them to your advantage. Throw the baseballs against the fence so that they bounce back at the enemy. You can also stand near the fence until the Smash-Dozer charges at you, then dodge out of the way so it takes the damage. It takes 6 hits to destroy the enemy. ENEMIES: Smash-Dozer. ----------------------------------- |* STAGE 13 - UNDER CONSTRUCTION *| ----------------------------------- E-MAIL: Even though we have successfully stopped the evil plans of Block-O, this is just a short victory and we must not underestimate them. The villagers heard strange mechanical noises during the night near the reservation park. The park seems to be under construction. I'm guessing that Block-O must be hiding in the park and preparing for his next plan. But no matter what the truth is, I need you to find out for me. OBJECTIVES: Defeat Communication Chief to exit the park. To progress to the next section you need to press the switch to open the doors. Try and do this without getting caught by the searchlight, otherwise you will have to defeat all the enemies before the doors open again. Defeat all enemies in the first section, then move on to the next. Defeat all the enemies in the second section, then knock down the tree and break open the boxes. Press the switch and go into the third section. Break the boxes on the left and Daniel is hidden behind. Talk to him to rescue him. Destroy all the enemies, then press the switch and go into the fourth section. Press the switch and go over the bridge. Talk to Pochi to rescue him. Defeat the 5 enemies, then press the switch and move on to section 5. Break the boxes to uncover a switch. Press it to drain the pond so you can cross over to the other side. Defeat all enemies, then go through to the sixth section and defeat the rest of the enemies. Step into the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Scout Trooper Blocks, Red Tube Blocks, Communication Chief. ---------------------------------------- |* STAGE 14 - LAST BREATH OF RELIANCE *| ---------------------------------------- E-MAIL: Oh no! Block-O has traced our communication signal and has located my laboratory. The mother ship is moving and on its way to destroy the laboratory. The worst thing is, Block-O has completed the "Block Generator". The radiation that the generator produces can turn living things into block -like forms. If the Block Generator targets on the whole planet, all life forms on this planet will be turned into blocks! You must enter the mother ship and destroy the core quickly! Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? Be careful of the defensive system in the mother ship. There are laser traps that turn living things into blocks." Hello Kitty: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Find the core of the mother ship. There are 3 enemies in the first area. Get rid of them first of all. There are moving light beams which you must jump over to avoid. If you pass through one it will fire a laser beam which temporarily turns Kitty into a block! Once all enemies are defeated the next door will open. Collect the coins and go on to the next area. Destroy the 2 enemies then go through the doors. There is only 1 enemy in this area. Get rid of it, then collect the coins and go trough the doors. Destroy the 3 enemies then go through the doors. There is only 1 enemy in this section. Get rid of it, then collect the coins and go through the doors. Destroy the 2 enemies. One of them is holding a pink key, so make sure you pick it up before you go through the doors. Defeat the 2 enemies then collect the coins and go through the doors. Make sure to avoid the laser beams. Fight the 3 enemies then go through the doors. There is only 1 enemy here so get rid of it, then collect the coins and go through the doors. Defeat the 2 enemies and one of them will drop a yellow key. Make sure you pick this up before you go through the doors. You will need to come back to this room before you complete the level. Collect the coins in the next area, jump over the beam and go through the door. Defeat the 2 enemies. One of them will drop a blue key so make sure you pick this up. Now, head back to the room I mentioned earlier, which is 2 sections before the one you're in now. There is a wall with King Block's face on. Skate up to it and you can open this with the pink key. There is another wall behind it which can be opened with the yellow key, and then another that can be opened with the blue key. Badtz-Maru is trapped inside the tiny room you have found! Speak to him to rescue him. Once you've done that go back to the end room, collect the coins and items, then step into the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Red Tube Blocks, Armed Red Tube Blocks, Anti-Riot Chief. ----------------------------- |* STAGE 15 - CONTROL DECK *| ----------------------------- E-MAIL: The mother ship must be destroyed. Go! Go! Go! Keroppi: "Kitty! Do you copy? You must stand in front of the power generator and let the laser trap hit you. When the core fires the photon ball at you, try to let the ball hit the power generator!" OBJECTIVES: Destroy the core of the mother ship. Keroppi: "Do you copy? The core of the mother ship will suck in Block troops to repair damage. Don't let it happen. The magnetic beams will only suck metals. You must push the time bombs into the beam area!" There are 6 power generators around the sides of the control deck. You must wait in front of one until the core fires at you, then dodge out of the way so it is destroyed. All 6 generators must be destroyed. The core of the ship will then try to suck in block troops to repair the damage. Push the time bombs into the core to damage it. It takes 6 hits to finish it off. OBJECTIVES: Attack the Block Warrior to stop it from reaching the laboratory. Slow down the Block Warrior by throwing bombs at it. This will stop it for a brief period of time, which allows you to skate round and collect the coins/ more bombs. Once you've used up all the bombs in the first area, skate over the bridge into the next section. You must cross over the bridge before the Block Warrior does, because he will break the bridge and you'll be stuck on the other side. Collect the coins and break open the boxes, then get ready to use the cannons. There are pineapple cannons and melon cannons. I find it easier to go further up to the melon cannons straight away, as you can shoot as many seeds as you want, but you can only shoot three pineapples at a time. Keep shooting the Block Warrior until enough energy has been created to fire the photon cannon. This will destroy the Block Warrior and the Earth is saved! Well done! OBJECTIVES: Rescue Mary White. You start off next to a large water fountain. Run forwards and jump onto the metal box and then jump over the wall. 2 enemies will appear who you will need to defeat. Remember, you should always collect all the coins and hit any boxes and bins to find hidden coins. Head through the break in the wall and 2 green boxes will fall down blocking your path. Another 2 enemies will appear so get rid of them. Go right and jump over a cracked section of the wall. There are 8 enemies waiting for you. Once you've defeated them go down to the far end and double-jump to get over the fence. There are another 6 enemies in this section. Defeat them and go to the far end where there is an old tree. You can knock this down and it will form a bridge which allows you to get across the river. There is a locked pink door in front of you. Defeat the 4 enemies as one of them will be holding the key. Enter the pink door and you'll see Mama shut inside a cage! Make sure you get all the coins and break all the crates before you rescue her. Save Mama and you've completed your first mission! ENEMIES: Blue Cube Block, Red Tube Block. ------------------------- |* STAGE 2 - FOOD FEAR *| ------------------------- E-MAIL: The Block Battalion has entered the food court area and has used some sort of transmission beam to steal our food stores! If the invasion doesn't stop, there will be no food court! You must hurry and stop them! OBJECTIVES: Destroy the Scout trooper before the Hot Dog Shop disappears. Destroy the Scout trooper before the Hamburger Shop disappears. Destroy the Scout trooper before the Noodle Shop disappears. Destroy all enemies in the park. The blue cubes with the flag and binoculars are the ones providing the transfer location, so you'll need to get them out of the way first. You start off next to a hot dog store and there are 6 enemies here. Fight them and then move upscreen towards the pink arrow. Jump over the blocks and you'll have another 5 enemies to fight. After that jump up the blocks and over the roof of the building. Once you run over the bridge a big block will fall down and you won't be able to go back again. There are 5 more enemies to destroy, then you'll need to jump onto the blocks and over some more roofs. You'll find Keroppi on the first yellow roof, so speak to him and he'll help you for the rest of the mission. There are 5 more enemies that need to be stopped. Defeat them and then go up the stairs to the park. There are a total of 4 enemies to destroy. Once you've done that collect all the coins and step into the teleportation beam to complete the mission. ENEMIES: Scout Trooper Blocks, Blue Cube Blocks, Red Tube Blocks. --------------------------- |* STAGE 3 - TANK ATTACK *| --------------------------- E-MAIL: Block-O's heavily armed machinery, Brick-Eater MK.II, has entered the City Plaza. Your weapons are not powerful enough to stop this advanced weaponry. Once I finish analyzing the enemy, I will immediately tell you its weakness. Keroppi: "Badtz-Maru! Do you copy? I have found the enemy's weakness! You must press Y to lift the time bombs of the enemy and throw it back onto its head. You can also jump to escape from the laser beams." Badtz-Maru: "Copy that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Brick-Eater MK. II. There are bits of broken wall around the middle of the plaza so hide behind these to avoid being hit by the tank's lasers. You'll need to hit the enemy with 8 bombs to defeat it. Try and collect the coins as well. ENEMIES: Brick-Eater MK. II. ------------------------------- |* STAGE 4 - THE SLEEPY PONY *| ------------------------------- E-MAIL: Badtz-Maru, get to the amusement park right away! The employees of the amusement park have been captured. Mimmy, Purin and lala need your help. Hurry up! OBJECTIVES: Rescue Mimmy. Rescue Purin. Rescue Lala. Find the exit of the amusement park. There are 2 enemies at the very start; defeat them and then run down the stairs. There are another 4 enemies, and one of them is holding a pink key. Defeat them all, collect the pink key and open the pink door. You will see that Mimmy has been trapped inside the teacup ride. Run over to your right and jump over the hedge. Press the switch to stop the ride and make your way over to Mimmy. Defeat the 5 enemies and rescue Mimmy. She will then give you a yellow key so you can access the area where Purin is trapped. Collect all the coins and then open the yellow door and run over to your right. You'll be able to see Purin in the distance and he is stuck on the Ferris wheel ride. Press the switch when Purin reaches the bottom to rescue him. He'll then give you a blue key so you can get to the area where Lala is trapped. 6 enemies will appear. Defeat them and then enter the blue door. There is only one enemy waiting, so get rid of it and then press the switch to lower the bridge. Go back through the blue and yellow doors, then run up the stairs and over the bridge. There are 4 enemies here. Defeat them to find a second pink key, then open the second pink door. Get rid of the 3 enemies and pick up the second yellow key, then you can open the second yellow door. Speak to Lala to rescue her and she'll give you a second blue key which will get you out of the amusement park. Run back towards the fountain and go up the stairs. Open the second blue door and go through it to complete the level. ENEMIES: Red Tube Blocks, Blue Cube Blocks, Green Cube Blocks, Yellow Cube Blocks. -------------------------- |* STAGE 5 - MESSY PARK *| -------------------------- E-MAIL: The amusement park was just cleaned not long ago ang the Block Battalion has contaminated the area. Unbelievable! Badtz-Maru, clean the area while you punish these villains. Keroppi: "Badtz! Do you copy? The amusement park is filled with enemies. Please save Tabo!" OBJECTIVES: Destroy the water barrels to clean up the dirt. Defeat the Chef Chief. You are now able to select a partner! A partner can help you throughout the mission and each has their own special abilities. There are 3 enemies you need to defeat first, then jump onto the platform and speak to Tabo to rescue him. Run over to the right and go through the doors. Break all the water barrels to clean up the mess. There are also 3 enemies to get rid of. Once the area is clean you can go through the doors at the end. You also need to clean this area with the water barrels and there are another 3 enemies. Defeat the cheerleader blocks and then go over to the spring block. Wait until it is bouncing in front of the little red building and hit it once to stun it. Whilst it is stunned you can jump on it without getting hurt. Make sure you land on top of the little red building and then jump up onto the next platform. Defeat the 2 enemies and collect all the coins. When you've done that, run over to the far right side of the pink building and you can see a 'secret' area below. Jump down and collect all the coins. There are also 3 enemies here. Jump back up again and go back to the main area, then run through the doors. Follow the rail track to the right for more coins and talk to Kiki to rescue him. Go back round the corner and skate up the stairs. Chef Chief is waiting for you here, along with 5 other enemies. I find it easiest to take out all the small enemies with a Level 2 special attack, then finish off the Chef Chief with a few more hits. Enter the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Green Cube Blocks, Cheerleader Blocks, Spring Blocks, Chef Chief. ----------------------------------- |* STAGE 6 - PROTECT THE STATION *| ----------------------------------- E-MAIL: Just as I though. Choo-Choo Bomber MK. II has entered the trailer area of the amusement park. But to the world's strongest and coolest penguin, it should eb a piece of cake. Let's go! The world's destiny is in your hands. Keroppi: "Badtz-Maru! Do you copy? You must use the enemy's cannon or your second level special attack to attack the head of Choo-Choo Bomber MK. II." Badtz-Maru: "It's showtime. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Choo-Choo Bomber MK. II. Before you do anything else, it is easier to run around the whole level and collect the coins and items. Then you can concentrate on the main task: destroy the Choo-Choo Bomber! It can be damaged by your level 2 special attack and using the pineapple cannons. A pink arrow will appear to show you which tunnel the Choo-Choo Bomber is going through. Use the pineapple cannon to target the front carriage and fire. It takes 8 hits to completely destroy it. During this time other block enemies will appear. You can fight them or dodge their attacks depending on what you find to be the easiest/quickest. ENEMIES: Choo-Choo Bomber MK. II, Armed Red Tube Blocks. ----------------------------- |* STAGE 7 - SHOPPING SCAM *| ----------------------------- E-MAIL: I heard that a lot of promotional flyers have been placed at the town's supermarket. I believe this is another one of Block-O's setups. I'm afraid the innocent citizens will fall for it once again so I need you to find out for sure. Keroppi: "Monkichi has been captured. I believe he is still inside the supermarket. You must save him!" Badtz-Maru: "Got it. Looks like he fell for the cheap bananas. What a silly little thing." OBJECTIVES: Rescue Monkichi. Defeat the Anti-Riot Chief. There are 4 enemies in the first section, then when you run round the corner there are lots of boxes in the way. The quickest way to get rid of these so you can move on is to do a double jump attack. There are 12 enemies to defeat in this section. Once you've done that, run past the shelves and go round the corner where you will come to a freezer section. Get rid of the 3 enemies to your right, and break through the boxes to get to Monkichi. Speak to him to rescue him and he'll give you a pink key. Defeat the 4 enemies to your left and then open the pink door. Defeat the last 2 enemies and then enter the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Red Tube Blocks, Rocket Blocks, Skiing Green Cube Blocks, Anti-Riot Chief. ----------------------------- |* STAGE 8 - FREEZE FACTOR *| ----------------------------- E-MAIL: Based on the previous analysis, the power will be overloaded if all the generators are switched on. This way we can destroy the factory as well as the weapons. Keroppi: "Badtz! Do you copy? I discovered the way to stop Block-O from manufacturing new robots. You must activate all 6 switches to cause an overload and create a chain explosion." Badtz-Maru: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Activate power generator No. 1. Activate power generator No. 2. Activate power generator No. 3. Activate power generator No. 4. Activate power generator No. 5. Activate power generator No. 6. There are lots of enemies in this level (12 in total), so the best thing to do is go round and get rid of them before concentrating on your main tasks. Jump onto the platforms and you will need to press all 6 switches. Pressing a switch will make new platforms raise up so you can access new areas. Remember to collect the coins as you are going round. You will find Pochacco on top of a block near the conveyor belt. Talk to him to rescue him. Once you've pressed all 6 switches the power will overload and the level is complete. ENEMIES: Yellow Cube Blocks, Skiing Green Cube Blocks. ------------------------- |* STAGE 9 - RED ALERT *| ------------------------- E-MAIL: The Catapult Monster MK. II is making a run from the frozen area of the supermarket. You must not let it get away! Block-O will use it to manufacture lots of them. We must destroy it! Keroppi: "Badtz-Maru! To defeat the Catapult Monster MK. II, you must jump on the spring troops after knocking them out and step on Reddy-Bear. You can also press B to reflect the tracing missile whilst flashing!" Badtz-Maru: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Catapult Monster MK. II. Collect all the coins first so then you can concentrate on defeating the boss. There are two ways you can destroy the catapult monster. The hard way is to get up close and stun the spring blocks, jump on them and land on top of the catapult monster so you can attack Reddy-Bear. The easy way is to wait for the enemy to shoot a tracing missile at you, then press B when it is close enough for you to hit it back at them. It takes 8 hits to finish it off. ENEMIES: Spring Blocks, Reddy-Bear, Catapult Monster MK. II. -------------------------------- |* STAGE 10 - THE HAUNTED LOT *| -------------------------------- E-MAIL: Lately, something strange has been going on in the parking lot. Some cars have been vandalized while others have disappeared! Move out to find out more, Badtz! OBJECTIVES: Complete the request of Runabouts. Find the exit of the parking lot. There are 2 enemies in the first section. Defeat them and the metal gate will slide open. Go through the gate and 2 blocks will fall down, cutting off your path. Go right and run through the hole in the wall. Defeat all 10 enemies and continue onwards through the next gap in the wall. There are 4 enemies in this section, and one of them is kidnapping Kuririn! Speak to him to rescue him after you have defeated the enemies. Follow the pink arrow through the gaps and run into the large, open area. Defeat the 3 enemies and the metal gate will slide open. Again, some large blocks fall down, cutting off your path. Run forwards and speak to Runabouts. He needs you to help him find some batteries to restore his power supply. There are 6 enemies that you need to get rid of, and then you can break open the boxes to look for Runabouts' batteries. You'll find 3 batteries in this area, which restores Runabouts to half-power. He then suggests finding a cracked wall that he can break through. Go back to the cake machine and there is a crack in the wall just to the left of it. Runabouts will break this into a hole and you can go through. Defeat all 10 enemies and then break open the boxes to find the 3 remaining batteries. This will charge Runabouts up to full power. He can now break down part of the bigger wall, so follow the arrow between the 2 pink cars in the middle section, and then run through the hole that Runabouts makes. Once you go through this hole there is no going back, so make sure you have collected all the coins etc. Defeat all enemies and enter the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Ninja Blocks, Bomb Blocks, Blue Cube Blocks, Anti-Riot Chief, Communication Chief. -------------------------------- |* STAGE 11 - ARENA OF DANGER *| -------------------------------- E-MAIL: Badtz-Maru, the mother ship of Block-O is most likely hidden under the sports arena. See if you can find the entrance. If you do, contact me immediately. OBJECTIVES: Find Kiki and Lala. Rescue Margaret White. Meet up with Kiki and Lala to exit the gymnasium. Collect the coins and destroy the 6 enemies on the ground. Remember to hit the trash cans for extra coins. Follow the track to the end and jump up onto the platforms back in the direction you just came. There are 6 more enemies on top of the platforms. On the end platform you will see Kiki and Lala. Talk to them and they'll lift you up into a new section where you get chased along a track by a giant ball! This part is pretty tricky, but the best way to do it is to double jump over all the boxes. There isn't very much time so I would advise against fighting enemies or collecting coins here unless you've tried it a few times and really have the hang of it. There are loads of enemies in this section (a total of 10), so get rid of them as quickly as you can, then go back round and collect the coins. Jump on top of the first platform on the left and then jump over to Margaret White. Speak to her to rescue her. Jump all the way over to the end platform and Kiki and Lala will carry you off to complete the level. ENEMIES: Ninja Blocks, Bomber Red Tube Blocks, Rocket Blocks. --------------------------------- |* STAGE 12 - PROJECT HOME RUN *| --------------------------------- E-MAIL: Kitty. Oh no! We are too late! Kitty has been outnumbered by the Block Battalion and captured. Furtnermore, Batter-Y is challenging us to fight him in the baseball field. For the sake of our planet and peace, we must not fail! Keroppi: "Badtz-Maru! You must not touch the electric walls on the field. But you can use the walls to attack the enemy. Press Y to toss the baseball against the electric wall and allow the baseball to bounce towards the enemy. You can also lure the enemy into the electric wall as it charges towards you, falling into its own trap." Badtz-Maru: "Roger that. Over." OBJECTIVES: Defeat the Smash-Dozer MK. II. You are in an area surrounded by electric fences. You must make sure you don't touch the fences, but you can use them to your advantage. Throw the baseballs against the fence so that they bounce back at the enemy. You can also stand near the fence until the Smash-Dozer charges at you, then dodge out of the way so it takes the damage. It takes 8 hits to destroy the enemy. ENEMIES: Smash-Dozer MK. II. ----------------------------------- |* STAGE 13 - UNDER CONSTRUCTION *| ----------------------------------- E-MAIL: Based on our previous data, I'm guessing the mother ship is located in the reservation park. You must sneak into the park to find the entrance of the mother ship and leave without being noticed. OBJECTIVES: Defeat Communication Chief to exit the park. To progress to the next section you need to press the switch to open the doors. Try and do this without getting caught by the searchlight, otherwise you will have to defeat all the enemies before the doors open again. Defeat all enemies in the first section, then move on to the next. Defeat all the enemies in the second section, then knock down the tree and break open the boxes. Press the switch and go into the third section. Break the boxes on the left and Daniel is hidden behind. Talk to him to rescue him. Destroy all the enemies, then press the switch and go into the fourth section. Press the switch and go over the bridge. Talk to Pochi to rescue him. Defeat the 5 enemies, then press the switch and move on to section 5. Break the boxes to uncover a switch. Press it to drain the pond so you can cross over to the other side. Defeat all enemies, then go through to the sixth section and defeat the rest of the enemies. Step into the teleportation beam to complete the level. Therefore, rescuing Kitty will not be an easy thing to do. We have no choice but to enter the mother ship by force. Keroppi: "Not good. Block-O has traced our communication signal and has located my laboratory. The mother ship is moving and on its way to destroy the laboratory. What's worse is that Block-O's duplicating technology has connected with the core of the mother ship to produce another Block Battalion. You must find a way to destroy the core and all of its duplicating devices." Badtz-Maru: "Roger that. Over. (If I can find that duplicating device...then my dream to rule the world wil...will...haha!)" OBJECTIVES: Find the core of the mother ship. There are 3 enemies in the first area. Get rid of them first of all. There are moving light beams which you must jump over to avoid. If you pass through one it will fire a laser beam which hurts Badtz-Maru! Once all enemies are defeated the next door will open. Collect the coins and go on to the next area. Destroy the 2 enemies then go through the doors. There is only 1 enemy in this area. Get rid of it, then collect the coins and go trough the doors. Destroy the 3 enemies then go through the doors. There is only 1 enemy in this section. Get rid of it, then collect the coins and go through the doors. Destroy the 2 enemies. One of them is holding a pink key, so make sure you pick it up before you go through the doors. Defeat the 2 enemies then collect the coins and go through the doors. Make sure to avoid the laser beams. Fight the 3 enemies then go through the doors. There is only 1 enemy here so get rid of it, then collect the coins and go through the doors. Defeat the 2 enemies and one of them will drop a yellow key. Make sure you pick this up before you go through the doors. You will need to come back to this room before you complete the level. Collect the coins in the next area, jump over the beam and go through the door. Defeat the 2 enemies. One of them will drop a blue key so make sure you pick this up. Now, head back to the room I mentioned earlier, which is 2 sections before the one you're in now. There is a wall with King Block's face on. Run up to it and you can open this with the pink key. There is another wall behind it which can be opened with the yellow key, and then another that can be opened with the blue key. Hello Kitty is trapped inside the tiny room you have found! Speak to her to rescue her. Once you've done that go back to the end room, collect the coins and items, then step into the teleportation beam to complete the level. ENEMIES: Red Tube Blocks, Armed Red Tube Blocks, Anti-Riot Chief. ----------------------------- |* STAGE 15 - CONTROL DECK *| ----------------------------- E-MAIL: The mother ship must be destroyed. Go! Go! Go! Keroppi: "Badtz-Maru! Do you copy? You must stand in front of the power generator and let the laser trap hit you. When the core fires the photon ball at you, try to let the ball hit the power generator!" OBJECTIVES: Destroy the core of the mother ship. Keroppi: "Do you copy? The core of the mother ship will suck in Block troops to repair damage. Don't let it happen. The magnetic beams will only suck metals. You must push the time bombs into the beam area!" There are 6 power generators around the sides of the control deck. You must wait in front of one until the core fires at you, then dodge out of the way so it is destroyed. All 6 generators must be destroyed. The core of the ship will then try to suck in block troops to repair the damage. Push the time bombs into the core to damage it. It takes 8 hits to finish it off. You must also avoid or fight the block troops that appear. ENEMIES: Mother Ship Core, Anti-Riot Chief, Armed Red Tube Blocks. ------------------------------------ |* STAGE 16 - THE FINAL COUNTDOWN *| ------------------------------------ E-MAIL: Good job, Badtz! You have successfully destroyed the mother ship. The bad news is that the Block Generator and duplicating technology are missing. Block-O's Block Warrior MK. II is on its way. But our Photon Cannon isn't completed yet and the town's citizens are still generating power for the cannon with whatever they have. Badtz, you have to try to keep the Block Warrior MK. II from reaching the "No Trespassing" zone, or else the Photon Cannon will be destroyed. The future of the planet lies in your hands! Keroppi: "Badtz! The villagers are working hard to generate the energy required to fire the Photon Cannon. Photon Cannon will be powerful enough to defeat Block Warrior MK. II only when the energy gauge reaches 100. Please do your best to slow down Block Warrior MK. II. If Block Warrior MK. II reaches Photon Cannon before the Cannon is fully charged, then the Earth is doomed!!" OBJECTIVES: Attack the Block Warrior MK. II to stop it from reaching the laboratory. Slow down the Block Warrior MK. II by throwing bombs at it. This will stop it for a brief period of time, which allows you to run round and collect the coins/more bombs. Once you've used up all the bombs in the first area, run over the bridge into the next section. You must cross over the bridge before the Block Warrior MK. II does, because he will break the bridge and you'll be stuck on the other side. Collect the coins and break open the boxes, then get ready to use the cannons. There are pineapple cannons and melon cannons. I find it easier to go further up to the melon cannons straight away, as you can shoot as many seeds as you want, but you can only shoot three pineapples at a time. Keep shooting the Block Warrior MK. II until enough energy has been created to fire the photon cannon. This will destroy the Block Warrior MK. II and the Earth is saved! Well done!
