About this walkthrough * ***************************** - First of all, this walkthrough is in no way intended to be a dedicated masterpiece of writing or stuff like that. It's just a simple help for gamers that got stuck somewhere and need help (after all, this game has only been released for three days right now and I've not seen a walkthrough for it anywhere else). No funny remarks, no fancy ASCII art, no detailed descriptions. I've got better things to do than THAT. Nice side effect: NO STORY SPOILERS! - I'm German, so don't expect 100% correct grammar and writing ;-) - I know I write like typing parser commands in some old SIERRA game. I'm just lazy. - When it says EXAMINE, it MEANS EXAMINE, so use the Enter button. COMBINE means that both objects are in your inventory. A "->" means you get that object automatically as a result of your action. Everything else (yeah, LOOK too!) is most probably the Action command, so use Space Bar. - When you have to find a room/area/etc. for the first time, I have most probably written how to get there (unless it's obvious). Once a room/area/etc. gets named with ">>>", you have to know yourself where it is since you've already been there. - Anyone problems understanding UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT? No? Fine. - As in almost any other adventure game, when you talk to a person, say everything you can (unless otherwise stated). Same goes for computers, read everything. - People you ++FIGHT++ have their [H]ealth and [A]rmor points mentioned here. - Fights and poker games contain (different from hacks and slider puzzle) random elements (whether your attack is successful or not, how many hit-points they lose, how many rounds enemies may be off after special attacks, which cards are drawn etc.) and therefore depend partly on luck, so I can't give a solution for these. - Save often, you can die easily, especially at Vorograd Airport and Sarjevane (second time you get there). But you probably know that already. - At "http://hometown.aol.de/Patlabor16/Data/largowinchsavegames.zip" you can download a zip-file containing several savegames. Simply put them into the "Savegame" directory of your LargoWinch folder. Hacking * **************** Explanation: - U,D,L,R is Up, Down, Left, Right - Ix means increase strength of node up to x (if you're on a node of 2 and it says I4, increase until it's 4) - Sx means skip x turns (if you're on a computer, do Action multiple times instead of waiting) - A means Action (on a computer) which usually takes 1 turn General: - These are solutions that worked for me multiple times, and every time all Interceptors and Defenders reacted the same way, so I think it should work for you too. They're maybe not the shortest, but they work. - We're all human and subject to making mistakes. Notify me if i made one here. - Keep in mind that Defenders, while being able to kick you out, will not try to hunt you down (like Interceptors). They'll go straight to any nodes you've taken over. This means you're relatively safe on nodes you're just trying to take over. Only as soon as the whole node is blue, the Defender will detect it - The key to winning is * building strong nodes near the enemy's entry point, cutting off the shortest ways * luring the enemy into your strongest nodes * making it impossible for them to reach you before they expire. 1. Slider Puzzle * ********************* Finally here it is, the solution to our beloved sliding puzzle, simply calculated by an algorithm in a little program called IDA15, which I happened to find on the WWW. The two rules are: - You can't move a latch if ANY of the latches ABOVE it is in the same position as the latch you try to move. - You can't move a latch into a position that ANY of the ledges ABOVE is in.
