I picked Spooky Castle because even though it's short, it's one of my favorite games. I'm really not that good at making introductions, and i don't have anything else to say, except that this is really a great game, and only GameFAQs (www.gamefaqs.com), and Gamespot (www.gamespot.com) may host this guide. With this out of the way, onwards we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| --------------------------Section II:Version History--------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Current Version:0.26 Date:3/22/04 Added CjayC to the Credits section Past Versions: Version:0.25 Date:3/21/04 First writing of the FAQ. Added a quarter of the walkthrough, added everything else except Keychain Locations and Enemies/Bosses Sections. I expect to update again tomorrow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| -------------------------------Section III:Story------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Just recently, the biggest organ bank in all of Bouapha's town was robbed of all it's brains! The brains, of course, were there for the ever-popular brain transplant operation. Witnesses reported glimpses of something big, green, and slimy heading for the big castle up on the hill. Well, Bouapha won't stand for brain theft in any form, so he suited up and dashed off to the castle on the hill to investigate. Control Bouapha in his battle against hordes of Zombies, Boneheads, Mumbles, and assorted spiders. Then prepare for a final climactic battle against the mysterious thing behind this heinous crime... These are not my words. They are from www.hamumu.com, and full credit goes to them. I repeat, these words are NOT mine, so don't sue me okay? Okay, let's move on to... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| -----------------------------Section IV:Controls------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| The controls for this game are very simple. So simple that a blindfolded monkey could play. (Okay, maybe not THAT simple, but simple none the less) Pause Game:Esc (escape key) Movement: Move up: (up arrow) Move down: (down arrow) Move left: (left arrow) Move right: (right arrow) (Please note that the numeric pad can also be used to control Bouapha) Attack:Left Ctrl or Z or Enter Special Weapon:Left Shift or X To brighten the screen press G repeatedly *Note* You can only attack if you have a hammer, and you can only use a special weapon if you have collected one *Note* *Other Note* If you have a special weapon, and you collect a different one, the new one will replace the existing one *Other Note* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ------------------Section V:Walkthrough (Feature presentation)----------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------| This is it. The feature presentation. Be aware that there might be spoilers, so if you don't want to ruin the game for yourself, I suggest that you stop reading here, Okay? Okay. So now I present to you, the walkthrough! THE HUB ------- You Start off outside the castle. Currently you only have access to three levels (the hollow trees). You can tackle them in any order, but I suggest that you start with the leftmost one (the easiest) to get a feel for the game. To enter a level, just walk into it. (Easy ain't it?) GHOULISH GLADE -------------- The simplest of simple levels. First avoid the 3 Boneheads, and head for the upper left corner to grab the hammer. Next, use it to kill them. Realize that you don't have to kill them to beat the level, but its good practice. Then, go and collect the brains. You'll know when you've collected all of them because the screen will light up, and Bouapha will say "I'm cool cat bad!" (or something to that effect). Then go back to the tree stump where you started and enter it to finish the level. THE HUB ------- When the screen fades in, you'll be back in the hub. Notice that there is an "X" over the level that you just beat. It means that you have successfully beaten that level, but you can still re-enter it. Now head for the next closest level. HAUNTED HOLLOW -------------- Run past the Bonehead, and head up and grab the hammer from next to the tree, and then get rid of him. Head back down to the left and meet another Bonehead and possibly a Spitter. Follow the path until you get to another hammer and then grab it. Head down a little more and keep following the path and grab the Pants of Power. The pants increase your fire rate so try to find lots of these when you can. Head up a little more to grab the second Pants of Power and kill the Spitter. Then head for the exit. Notice that you didn't have to grab any brains to beat this level. Always make sure to look on the right side of the screen to see if the level you're in has any brains to collect. THE HUB ------- The castle gate is now open, and four more levels are avalible for you to play. You could go in and play those levels, but first go to the final tree stump, and play that level. Why? You may ask. Because it's easier of course! THE SHED -------- When you start, head up and push one of the boxes up, to get into the shed. Once inside, push the box back to where it was, so that the enemies can't get in. Go up to grab a hammer and two brains. Then head to the left to grab another hammer and three Pants of Power. Go up a tiny bit, and push the box to the left or the right, to get at the brain. Go back to the entrance of the shed, but don't exit yet. Go to the right to get to a semi hidden passage. Follow it and push the box up, to get at the last hammer and two brains. Now you may wonder "Where are the rest of the brains?" that's easy, they're in the zombies. Whenever you're in a level with zombies, you have to kill them to get the rest of the brains. When you kill one, they'll drop a brain. It's that simple! Anyways, get back to the entrance of the shed, and this time you can exit. Then go up and kill all the enemies, and collect the brains that the zombies drop. Now you can exit this level. THE HUB ------- When the screen fades in, enter the leftmost hole in the wall, NOT the set of stairs on the left side of the castle. THE ANTECHAMBER --------------- When you start the level, grab the key, and use it on the TOP door (or else you won't have the key to the door coming up) to grab a Pants, a brain, and a green key. Go back into the main hallway, and head right, onto a makeshift bridge. Quickly grab the 2 hammers and the 2 Pants, before the Aquazoids kill you. Kill the Aquazoids, then enter the door on the right. Go down this narrow hallway, killing every enemy, and collecting the brains from the zombies. When you reach the big room, go to the right to pick up the reverse hammer (it let's you throw hammers backwards) and then head up. Kill the Mumbles and pick up the key on the ground. Go back to the beginning of the level, and open the bottom door to get a Pants of Power, and the rest of the brains. After you collect them all, you can exit this short level. THE HUB ------- When the screen fades in, enter the second hole in the wall.
