(Now, the fun part) MELEE WEAPONS: PUNCH, TIE, GAG Weapon specifications: *Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on an enemy and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - Unlimited Availible to - Green Beret, Sniper, Diver, Sapper, Thief This is the standard "weapon" every commando has with the exception of the Spy. A good whack in the noggin can keep a Nazi down for a while. Be sure to tie him up though, cause he'll be quite grumpy when he wakes up. PIANO STRING Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on an enemy and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - Unlimited Availible to - Thief A very old trick. The Thief sneaks up behind an enemy and hangs the poor fella' for him. This action is extremely slow as the Thief has to let the Nazi fall to the ground before he can do anything else. Not one of my favourites, but just be careful while using it. FAIRBURN ASSAULT KNIFE Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on an enemy and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - Unlimited Availible to - Green Beret, Diver Quite useful. In fact, this is one of the best weapons in the game. It delivers a powerful blow and is pretty quiet. The Green Beret sneaks up behind an enemy soldier and either stabs him in the back(This one makes a fair bit of noise) or slits his throat. The Diver, however throws the knife for a bit of a bloody end. SYRINGE Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 3 Strength - 40% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on an enemy and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 20 doses Availible to - Spy Instead of punching the enemy, the Spy uses a syringe filled with poison that kills in three doses. One will daze the Nazi, allowing you to sneak past him without being seen or heard (Disappointing, as in the original Commandos it could do a one-hit KO :-p ) Two will bring him down and three will finish em' off. FIREARMS: COLT .45 M1911A / LUGER P06 Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 3 Strength - 40% Rate of fire - Fires a single shot Maximum ammo - Unlimited / 120 bullets for the Luger Availible to - All (Duh!) This is the basic weapon for all of your commandos. Fairly powerful, average speed and unlimited ammo (for the Allied pistol) makes this a quite effective weapon. (Mostly the Spy and Thief don't come with this.) LEE-ENFIELD NO.4 MK1 / MAUSER KARABINER 98K Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - Fires a single shot Maximum ammo - 15 bullets Availible to - All This is a pretty good weapon. One fine shot can polish off your enemies. One major drawback is that both are bolt-action rifles, (What happened to the good ol' M1 Garand?) which means your men will take time to load another bullet into the firing chamber. Allied soldiers come with unlimited ammo, but that doesn't mean your commandos will. Get ammo off the enemy's backs. MP40 SUBMACHINE GUN Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - Fires a burst of 7 bullets Maximum ammo - 150 bullets Availible to - All Fully automatic and very powerful. It's burst of seven can eliminate two Nazis standing together. In my opinion, it is the best weapon in the game. However, there is a big drawback as your men have a tendency to miss when the enemy is running towards them, thus, wasting ammo. Grab ammo from the enemy. STURMGEWEHR 44 ASSAULT RIFLE Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 2 Strength - 70% Rate of fire - Fires a single shot Maximum ammo - 15 bullets Availible to - All This was the only operational assault rifle in World War II. In the game, it is semi-automatic and does not require your men to cock the rifle like bolt-action rifles. Quite powerful, as two shots can bring a Nazi down. Usually found on parachutists (Guys in grey). M1903 SPRINGFIELD / GEWEHR 43 Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - Fires a single shot Maximum ammo - 25 bullets Availible to - Sniper These are long range sniper rifles which can be handled only by the Sniper. Once selected, a scope will replace your cursor and one shot will take down a Nazi if your skill with the mouse is good enough. Pick up ammo from enemy snipers. (Green rifle clips) FLAMETHROWER Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - Fires in a continuous stream Maximum ammo - 500 fuel units Availible to - Sapper This powerful weapon is only availible in the "Cripple Nazi Support" mission. It is completely silenced, making it a very useful weapon indeed. Problem is, the roasted Nazi will run all about, even into another enemy's view, so, make sure that no one will see the burnt body. PIAT ANTI-TANK GUN Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - Fires a single explosive shot Maximum ammo - 6 shells Availible to - Sapper Cool weapon. This tube uses an electrical charge to propel the shell out. Use it against large groups of Nazi infantry or enemy armour.(Three explosive heads destroy a Tiger Tank) EXPLOSIVES: NO. 36M Mk 1 "MILLS BOMB" Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 10 grenades Availible to - All Not a bad thing at all. I see the guys at Pyro Studios made a big change by allowing everyone to use it instead of the Sapper. Now you can order your Spy to do the dirty work by getting him to blast away with this. You can usually find these "pineapples" from boxes. ANTI-PERSONNEL MINE Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 10 mines Availible to - Sapper A very big letdown since the "Commandos 2" series. The blast now only kills one enemy soldier instead of taking out a few. Lay these little traps in chokepoints for maximum kills such as passages or bridges. Find them in boxes lying around the map. ANTI-TANK MINE Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 10 mines Availible to - Sapper Yet another letdown. The mine hardly scratches the paint of the hull of a Tiger Tank as it takes almost 3 to kill one. Lay these little traps in chokepoints for maximum kills such as passages or bridges. Find them in boxes lying around the map. REMOTE-CONTROLLED BOMB Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 1 bomb Availible to - Sapper Sweet. Six sticks of blue-painted TNT can cause a whole tank to go up in flames if placed in a correct place. Find these in boxes lying around the map. TIMED BOMB Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 1 bomb Availible to - Sapper Pretty rare around in "Commandos 3:Destination Berlin". I can only remember a few in Stalingrad. Six sticks of these red-painted TNT can cause a whole tank to go up in flames if placed in a correct place. Find these in boxes lying around the map. GAS GRENADES Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 10 grenades Availible to - Sapper Quite a good weapon. This green can of gas marked with a poison mark affects enemy soldiers and YOUR MEN. So be careful where you throw these. (My Green Beret slept through the whole mission in Berlin.) Counter these by wearing gas masks. MOLOTOV COCKTAIL Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - 10 bottles Availible to - Sapper Quite a silent way to kill. The Sapper throws a bottle of paraffin which bursts into flames the instant it touches the ground. Problem is, the uniform of the soldier will by roasted along with him. SPECIAL WEAPONS: ANTI-TANK CANNON Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - Unlimited Availible to - Green Beret This friggin' large gun is only available in the "Protect General O' Donnell" mission. The Green Beret is the only one who can operate it, due to his muscles and versatility. Eliminate the two sub-machine gunners who are wheeling this in and you can use it. LIGHT MACHINE GUNS(MG42/ MASCHINES-GEWEHR 42) Weapon specifications: Stopping power - 1 Strength - 100% Rate of fire - As fast as you can click on a location and the time the commando takes to do this Maximum ammo - Unlimited Availible to - Green Beret, Sapper These big boys can be found on most of the missions. Again, because of his strength and versatility, the Green Beret can carry the gun and fire it, making him da "Terminator"... The Sapper also can use these mounted guns, which can be sometimes hazardous to his health, as he can be easily seen and be fired upon before he even pulls off a single shot. Just be careful around these guns. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.4 Enemy FAQ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The main threat of your missions. Here are some important things about them. *Never let your Spy stand in front of an officer, a Gestapo sergeant or a Waffen SS soldier, for they can see through his disguise. *Dudes with rifles, assault rifles and MP40s can waste your men very quickly. *Fists now do more damage to your men. *Try to eliminate Nazis as stealthily as possible. *Alarms ALWAYS fail your missions. (You'll know why when you play the game.) *Machine gunners can kill you with ONE bullet. (Same applies to the Nazis) *They have unlimited ammo, but not you. Now for the profiles on the enemy. WEHRMACHT TROOPS WEHRMACHT RIFLESMAN Weapon:Mauser Karabiner 98K Uniform:Light brown Threat:70% Rank:Low These are the standard infantry of the German army. Their Kar 98K rifles are highly effective against your men as they pack a punch. However, you can counter this by stealing the enemy rifles and using it against them. WEHRMACHT MACHINEGUNNER Weapon:MP40 submachine gun Uniform:Blue Threat:70% Rank:Low These machinegunners are a real threat to your men. Their MP40s take off two-third the health of a commando. Likewise of the Wehrmacht riflesmen, you can steal their weapons and use it against them. WEHRMACHT LIEUTENANT Weapon:Luger P06 Uniform:Blue Threat:40% Rank:Medium These fellas are not much of a threat as their Luger is pathetic and they can't see through your disguise. Don't waste too much time on them. MECHANIC Weapon:Fists Uniform:White & green Threat:50% Rank:Low Now these annoying civilians are more irritating. Their punch is more devastating and they can sound the alarm even quicker. One good way is to run past them and confuse them. Once that is done, stab or punch them out. WEHRMACHT OFFICER Weapon:Luger P06 Uniform:Green Threat:65% Rank:High The Spy's worst enemy. Now, officers can see through your disguise faster and their Luger can damage you pretty much. One good thing is that they are usually isolated, so you can get rid of them easily. SECRETARY Weapon:Fists Uniform:White Threat:50% Rank:Low Now these annoying civilians are more irritating. Their punch is more devastating and they can sound the alarm even quicker. One good way is to run past them and confuse them. Once that is done, stab or punch them out. WEHRMACHT SNIPER Weapon:Gewehr 43 Sniper Rifle Uniform:Brown Threat:75% Rank:Low Certain troops in the Nazi Army are trained to use precision weapons. These are the enemy snipers. Although not as dangerous as their "big brother" in Stalingrad, you should beware of them, as one shot square between the eyes can put your men down. LUFTWAFFE TROOPS LUFTWAFFE PARATROOPERS (FALLSCHIRM) Weapon:SturmGewehr 44 Assault Rifle Uniform:Grey Threat:70% Rank:Low These parachutists are DEADLY. They land out of nowhere and they attack in squads of 3 excluding an officer. Beware of these soldiers from hell. Their StG 44 Assault Rifle can "pwn" your men in an instant. LUFTWAFFE OFFICER (FALLSCHIRM) Weapon:Luger P06 Uniform:Grey Threat:65% Rank:High Although they are not as deadly as their soldier counterparts, they still can see through your Spy's disguise, attract the attention of their squad and you will soon have one heck of a problem. Just be careful around these guys. KRIEGSMARINE TROOPS KRIEGSMARINE SAILOR Weapon:Luger P06 Uniform:Black Threat:50% Rank:Low Now these annoying civilians are more irritating. They are only found in the "Destroy The Warships" mission but they now have a Luger with them. Make sure you stay out of their sight, as they will not only shoot you, but will attract the attention of other more powerful troops as well. NAZI ELITE TROOPS WAFFEN SS STORMTROOPER Weapon:MP40 submachine gun Uniform:Brown Threat:85% Rank:Low These guys are one of the biggest threats you will encounter in Commandos 3. Armed with an MP40 submachine gun and the ability to see through disguises at long range, you will definately avoid these chaps. Use more powerful weapons on them. GESTAPO SGT. Weapon:MP40 submachine gun Uniform:Dark blue / Grey Threat:85% Rank:Medium What can I say? These guys are replicas of the Stormtroopers, except that they carry the rank of a Lieutenant. Avoid them at all costs. GESTAPO OFFICER Weapon:Luger P06 Uniform:Grey Threat:65% Rank:High These guys populate Berlin. Watch out for them, as the Spy's Syringe will not work well here. Stay out of their evil sight if you do not want to get your men killed. PATROL LEADER Weapon:Luger P06 Uniform:Grey Threat:65% Rank:High One of the coolest looking uniforms in Commandos 3. They are usually found leading patrols of 5 men. Watch it, as it is not them who are dangerous. It is their squad. Tread softly around them. PATROL MEN Weapon:MP40 submachine gun Uniform:Grey Threat:85% Rank:Low Careful of these Nazis. Whatever they see, their commander sees. Once you are spotted, a rain of bullets will pour upon you. One good way to eliminate them is to use a Gas grenade or grenade. WEHRMACHT ELITE SNIPER Weapon:Gewehr 43 Sniper Rifle Uniform:Brown Threat:100% Rank:Low He is only found in one level, which is the first mission of the game. Follow the game's advice, as he can indeed see further than you. Easily recognized by the "wings" above him. Find a suitable sniping position and poke him in the back. Or else, he'll be swatting you down like nobody's businness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.5 USEFUL STUFF ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are some useful tips on how to get past Commandos 3 - Always conserve ammo. This is pretty important as you have to pick ammo from enemy soldiers, which can be tough if they're hard to get to. - Quicksave OFTEN. You will be able to correct your mistakes and not have to restart the level just because you sounded the alarm due to a careless mistake. Just do this whenever you need to do something risky. - To hit the dirt faster, press SPACEBAR and right-click immediately. Your Commando will slide to the ground. Same for standing up. - Barrels are useful... especially in the first Normandy mission. - Run only when necessary, as it attracts the attention of the enemy. - If you need to set up ambushes, always position your men round corners. this gives you the element of surprise and the enemy won't be able to see you. - Try not to get shot. This is because your Commandos will automatically 1st aid kits, which is highly annoying. - Metal boxes are always empty, so, don't waste your time on them. - Use the right weapon at the right time. Don't waste a rifle bullet on a technician or an unarmed soldier. Make good use of the ammo given to you. - When up against machine guns, don't try to alarm the gunners. This is because they can swivel the guns pretty quickly and they hardly miss, unless you're running. - Always LOOK through windows and doors before you enter a room. It saves your arse from being blown off by a Nazi who just wanders in and spots you. - Avoid standing i front of the bunkers in the "Storm the Beach" mission. Just because you don't see a gunner doesn't mean he isn't there. So, watch yourself. - Chokepoints are deadly if you get mobbed. (That's all I have for now.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.6 CHEATS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Type in this at the title screen when you make a profile, in block.
